Elaine Jones

Elaine Jones

Elaine started painting in 2008 just prior to joining the Sunbury Art Society.

She is self taught but is the first to admit that being a part of the Society inspires her to be more industrious and creative.
Also she has picked up some very useful techniques which she has modified to suit her own style.

Asked who inspires her, Elaine responded that Degas' bronzes does it for her.

The sea and people are her favourite subjects of her paintings.

Her favourite medium is chalk and pastel.

She won an encouragement award only after 12 months of painting at the Emu Bottom Art Show 2009.
In 2010 she won the Sunbury Art Society Nightscape Challenge as voted by members and the public.

We look forward to plenty more from Elaine.
