Majoring in art at Burwood Teacher's College began Diane's passion for
art, particularly painting. As a primary school teacher art became an
important part of the classroom. She later became an art and craft
teacher in schools.
After leaving Melbourne to live in Queensland the
vibrant tropical colours influenced Diane's art. Using acrylic paint
Diane's subjects ranged from tropical fish, sea scapes to landscapes.
Later after living on St Helena Island in Moreton Bay subjects also
included landscapes of the old penal colony on the island and island
life.
Diane returned to Melbourne and after settling in Sunbury joined the
Sunbury Art Society. She continues to use colour to express her
impressions of landscapes, sea scapes, boats and people in acrylics.
She was
a committee member in 2007/8 and president in 2008/9.
She has already had considerable success in most of her Open Art Shows where she has entered works, having won several High Commendations.
