In Memory
This page is in memory of those who have passed away (since 2002). They will not be forgotten by those who knew them and their contributions while a member of the Society.

John Cameron Dick (founding member and first life member) was the one of the key players in forming the Sunbury Art Society. As a member of the Glenroy Art Group and finally his move to Sunbury he met with a group of fellow artists in his garage where the idea to form an Art Society developed.
John painted in all mediums and tried the various compositions with great success. Apart from painting he loved his sculpture on a grand scale.
John was a walking encyclopaedia on art, history, electronics, orology and more.
He was a mentor and good friend.

Ray Brooks (founding member) was one of those artists who formed the core group of the Art Society. Ray was a very experienced and creative artist who most recently enjoyed experimenting with creating movement and forms from nature such as trees taking on the appearance of humans.
Ray became a vital cog in the running of the Boilerhouse complex having brought in the various art forms to the building.
Ray's other interests also included sculpture and her involvement with the local theatre company. She also helped prepare a historical report on the former female prison.

Kath Wilkins was a member for only a few years but her health problems did not deter her from participating in Society activities. Her premature passing away was a sad loss to the Society. Her friendship and her inspiration will be missed.

John Harvoe was a true gentleman who had only a good word for fellow members. His enthusiam to learn and develop his art was inspirational. Even as a novice he was very forward to impart his knowledge and assist with framing for fellow members.

Sylvienne Henry, (still in her 50's) passed away in November 2007. She had been a member for some 6 years. She was a very active member of the Society, loved her pastel drawings and was known for the love and generosity she had given towards handicapped children. Sylvienne also always liked a good joke or two.
